Puccini X Soul
Featuring Vera Tóth and Zsuzsanna Ádám
A song is always a song, even if it is performed by a popstar, opera singer or a lonely shower-star. Moreover, most of the songs – independently from the style – go through the same topics: broken heart/happy heart, life is wonderful/life is terrible.
Besides the common topics, there are related genres too – for example both Puccini and the classical soul music demand significant performer-individuality and outstanding vocal technique. So the parallel is given: How does a soulqueen or an opera diva sing the same primaeval feeling, is
there a way through between Zsuzsa Cserháti and Puccini? This evening, two real divas help to decide this not too difficult question.
Vera Tóth
She has already sung as the warm-up singer of Sting and Lenny Kravitz, she also sings with Budapest Jazz Orchestra, they give unconventional concerts in numerous places in Hungary, with different exciting guests, not necessarily from the jazz genre. Vera believes that people have to work nicely and slowly, and we always have to strive for the best quality.
Zsuzsanna Ádám
Zsuzsanna Ádám, the opera singer who was born in Kecskemét, has already played the piano and the cello in her childhood, and later her voice has won the audience with a magical power. She has studied in Pécs, Szeged, Mantova, and continued in Budapest where she was soon mentioned as one of the most promising talents of the international opera life. She has achieved outstanding results in numerous prestigious competitions and regularly performs on the stages of the largest Hungarian opera houses.
