Mozart / Schönberg

The sections of our orchestra got a real treat this evening - and we hope they weren't the only ones. The Himalayas of the Wind Literature is Mozart's Gran score for 13 instruments and one of the great highlights of Mozart's oeuvre. As is the early Schoenberg opus, still considered by opponents of 'ugly' music to be the composer's greatest work (written when he was still a beautician). The end of Romanticism, but what an end! The most emotional work in the string orchestra repertoire, a tragic story of love condensed into half an hour.
