Since humanity has started singing, the great part of songs is about love. Moreover, if we have a closer look, when it is not about a sacral song, one way or another, but love is present in them, even if often in a figurative sense. But how is love expressed in instrumental music? And why do we agree that certain melodies and sounds clearly have something to do with love? The concert of Danubia Orchestra seeks the answer for these questions, in which the instruments will be in love. Mozart’s overture introduces love rather from the side of intrigue, as in the opera following the overture, two men test the loyalty of their loved ones as a joke. Ferenc Liszt’s Dream of Love was originally a song, but it became famous as a piano piece. Everybody recognizes the burning, and storm-resisting love in it. The story of Romeo and Julia inspired many artists during the history. Csajkovszkij composed a symphonic piece which creates a real action movie on our imaginary screen. The Overture of Ruslan and Ludmila proclaims the victory of fulfilling love. Shostakovich's waltz is both classical music, jazz and a hit at the same time, yearning for something or someone with some melancholy. Francis Lai and Henry Mancini’s Love Story music is even more melancholic and leads to Rezső Ott’s piece, who summarized the history of love songs and love hits in one single composition.
We recommend this concert to everyone, who does not want to deal with the soon-coming darkness, cold, passing and winter in this late autumn evening, but would rather fall in love for an evening.
