Vive la France!
From the great French masterpieces to the world of chanson, with Myrtill Michell
The French are, in truth, good – if not outright excellent – at just about everything, from cheese to football. Yet the hundred colours and aromas of their music do not always reach us in their full richness.
Our concert is a celebration of French music, and while we cannot show you everything, we aim to take the biggest possible bite out of this mouth-watering baguette. The chef and conductor of the evening is Máté Hámori, while the delightful vocal épices will be served up by Myrtill Micheller.
Myrtill Micheller fulfilled a childhood dream when she earned her degree in French. Her other great loves, jazz and music, soon found their way into her life as well: in 1999 she earned a second degree in jazz singing from the Liszt Academy of Music. She has released numerous albums and performs regularly in Hungary and abroad. In 2007 her album Same as you was nominated for a Fonogram – Hungarian Music Award in the Jazz Album of the Year category. Voice&Guitar, her duo with guitarist Tibor Pintér, performs to remarkable acclaim, and their gypsy swing project SWINGUISTIQUE has produced several gold records. In 2018 Myrtill received the ARTISJUS Performer Award for her outstanding work.
