Impression
Debussy 1
Well, what impressionism in music is, it would be quite difficult to formulate, but perhaps it is not necessary. The point is that Debussy's freedom of form (it was called formless at the time) has become a classic, and has served as an inspirational battery not only for musicians, but for all the arts.
Debussy was not one of the most prolific composers, but many of his works are still unknown to the national public. The concert will include solo and chamber works, alongside the most iconic Faun, in an attempt to introduce the music of which Debussy was the first great, often labelled Impressionist. The secret is often not in the sounds, but in the orchestration, as this Debussy transcription of Satie's work proves. The whole series is also recommended for young adults and novice music fans, with Gábor Eckhardt's explanations illuminating the most obscure corners in an entertaining way.
