Peaks / Destiny / Beauty
This is one of the most exciting concert performances of the year, a Hungarian premiere, a meeting between a rarely performed master who (also) uses Hungarian folk music and a giant who for the first time incorporates Russian folk music into his works at a high level. And the Danish master Hans Abrahamsen, celebrated all over the world, whose Piano Concerto - like Ravel's famous left-hand concerto - uses only the performer's left hand, but quite a lot of it: the fireworks-like music is an enormous challenge for the pianist. It's a programme for those who want excitement, exploration and immersion, recommended for advanced music lovers but also for the adventurous beginners.
